Canyon Country Veterinary Hospital’s experienced veterinarians are skilled in performing many surgical procedures for your pet, including:

  • Mass removals and biopsies
  • Spay or neuter
  • Foreign body removal
  • Cyst removal
  • Dental extractions
  • Oral mass removals
  • Soft tissue surgery

We recommend pre-operative blood tests for all pets undergoing a surgical procedure. These tests are tailored specifically to your pet, taking into account condition, lifestyle, and age. They can tell us if your pet is healthy enough for the surgery and can warn us of any potential health problems that would cause us to postpone the appointment.

Prior to any surgery, your pet will receive an intravenous (IV) catheter so that we can administer fluids and medications. A trained staff member will stay with your pet at all times. Your pet will be kept warm, and medication to manage pain is given before, during, and after the surgery. Continuous monitoring is performed to make sure your pet is doing well throughout.

Most pets can go home the same day, and we will make sure you have any medications you will need and know how and when to give them. If your pet must remain with us overnight, you can be sure that he or she will be cared for with skillful compassion.
